About the role
Job Summary: In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values, the Medical Assistant is responsible for operating as a team member and provide support services to the medical team that assist in meeting the medical and psychiatric needs of our clients. The following duties will apply:
Duties
- Obtaining vital signs from patients
- Assisting with patient searches.
- Observing and processing urine drug screens.
- Observe clients after medication administration.
- If certification requirements are met, entering requisitions and completing bloodwork.
- Assist with cleaning and preparing client rooms.
- Follow infection control principles and cleaning guidelines.
- Assists with the following responsibilities: screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis intervention and response, patient education, case management, reporting and record-keeping, and consultation with other professionals.
- Responsible for carrying out treatment planning in milieu.
- Assists in providing therapeutic interventions to foster clients’ social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development.
- Provide transportation for clients to and from treatment-related appointments or community activities.
