Boys Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach
Description
The Varsity Boys' Assistant Basketball Coach will assist the Head coach with coaching the basketball team. The coach will prepare for seasons, coach practices, and coach games.
· Support the programs and directives of the Athletic Director
· Keep up to date on knowledge of the sport and coaching practices
· Safeguard and inspect all equipment, uniforms, keys, and other items for sports activities
· Coach and coordinate all basketball practices
· Coach and coordinate all basketball games
· Follow up with the Athletic Director on how the season is going regularly
· Comply with student eligibility according to school policy
· Communicate and cooperate with other coaches and school staff if needed
· Ensure a safe environment when coaching
Requirements
• Obtain and maintain Florida State Certification in an area related to management and/or coaching.
• Maintain and hold certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• Possess initiative, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
• Possess the ability and experience to effectively coach athletes and mentor students.
• Resolve conflicts that may arise during a season in a manner that is peaceful to all parties involved.
