Business Systems Analyst

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to act as the key link between business stakeholders, the Project Management Office (PMO), and IT teams. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming business ideas and requests into clear, structured, and actionable requirements, ensuring that development teams have the necessary information to assess, estimate, and implement solutions effectively. 

This role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, combined with a good understanding of business processes and technology systems.

The successful candidate will be accountable for: 

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders and PMO to understand business needs, clarify requirements, identify gaps, and translate high-level requests into detailed functional specifications. 

• Business-to-IT Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, IT Project Managers, Developers, QA, and other technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and aligned. 

• Documentation & Ticket Preparation: Prepare and maintain functional requirements, business process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Jira epics/stories, ensuring development requests are sufficiently detailed before entering IT delivery planning. 

• Business Process & System Analysis:
  Analyse existing processes and systems, identify improvement opportunities, and assess the potential business impact and dependencies of proposed changes. 

• Requirements Validation: Review requirements with relevant stakeholders, resolve ambiguities, document business rules and exceptions, and obtain the necessary confirmations before development begins. 

• Project Delivery Support: Support IT Project Managers and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle by answering functional questions, managing requirement clarifications, and assessing the impact of changes. 

• Testing & User Acceptance: Collaborate with QA and business stakeholders to define expected outcomes, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure delivered functionality meets the agreed business requirements. 
• Continuous Improvement:
  Identify recurring gaps in requirements, documentation, and communication, and recommend improvements to strengthen the overall business-to-IT delivery process. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role. 

• Proven experience gathering, analysing, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements. 

• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and business process documentation. 

• Good understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and IT project delivery processes. 

• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools. 

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. 

• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
