CDL Bus Driver

Description

Kelly High School is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious CDL School Bus Driver to join our transportation team. This position serves as a relief driver for regular morning and afternoon routes and provides transportation for student activities throughout the school year.

The CDL School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as to extracurricular activities, field trips, and athletic events. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for students.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus on assigned morning and afternoon routes.
• Serve as a relief driver for regular route drivers when needed.
• Transport students to and from field trips, sporting events, and other school-sponsored activities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow all traffic laws, school policies, and transportation regulations.
• Maintain order and ensure student safety while on the bus.
• Report accidents, incidents, mechanical issues, or safety concerns promptly.
• Keep accurate transportation records as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required school bus driving certifications.
• Clean driving record and successful completion of background checks and drug screening.
• Strong commitment to student safety and customer service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends for special events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a school bus or commercial passenger vehicle.
• Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
