About the role

The Chief Financial Officer serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and a trusted strategic business partner to the President, CEO and Board of Directors. This role carries broad enterprise-wide accountability, with direct oversight of Finance, Accounting, and Tax, as well as operational advisory influence across the organization. The CFO is a forward-thinking leader who balances fiscal discipline with growth-oriented thinking, enabling the business to scale with confidence and clarity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the President, CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
  • Translate business strategy into financial plans, providing data-driven insights that shape key decisions around acquisitions, capital allocation, and financing needs.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across all functional areas.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organization, including talent acquisition, mentoring, organizational design, and succession planning for key finance roles.
  • Represent the company with lenders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Set the strategic direction for finance and accounting, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and long-range plans.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and banking relationships for the company and partnership arrangements.
  • Manage enterprise risk, insurance, and capital allocation.
  • Develop and execute capital structure and funding strategy, including debt, equity and credit facilities.
  • Partner with the President and CEO on the M&A strategy in alignment with corporate growth objectives.
  • Lead acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments from origination through close.
  • Hold functional leaders accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury management.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the company’s tax posture, ensuring the overall approach balances compliance obligations with sound tax planning.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, and HR to improve margins, productivity, and cost structure.
  • Partner with HR leadership on high-impact decisions such as compensation philosophy and labor relations.
  • Provide financial and analytical support for operational decision-making.
  • Oversee commodity risk strategy, including hedging through futures, options, and forward contracts.
  • Serve as CFO and Board member to partnerships; participating in governance, strategy, treasury and oversight.
  • Lead and maintain relationships with lenders, including negotiation of credit facilities, borrowing base arrangements, amendments, and renewals; serve as a primary contact for bank groups and agents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
  • Proven track record of overseeing multiple functional areas.
  • Deep expertise in financial planning & analysis, GAAP reporting, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic business partner.
  • Strong experience managing and developing high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style, equally comfortable setting strategy and diving into the details.
  • A leader of uncompromising integrity who models the values, accountability, and ethical standards expected of others.
