About the role

Description

No CDL required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to work in ready-mix operations without needing a commercial driver's license.

Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina, Onsite Construction Project

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Approx. 7-Month Project)

Start Date: October 1, 2026

About the Role

We are hiring Concrete Truck Drivers for a 7-month construction project. In this role, you will operate a concrete mixer truck entirely within the boundaries of a private jobsite transporting batched concrete from our on-site portable concrete plant to placement locations across the project. This is a great opportunity for drivers who want steady work without the demands of public-road hauling.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate a concrete mixer truck within the construction site
  • Complete basic pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections
  • Receive loads from the on-site portable concrete batch plant
  • Transport and deliver concrete to designated placement locations
  • Position the truck safely and operate mixer drum and discharge controls
  • Communicate with plant personnel, field crews, and spotters
  • Follow site-specific traffic plans, backing procedures, and safety requirements
  • Stay alert to pedestrians, equipment, excavations, and changing site conditions
  • Keep assigned equipment clean and report mechanical or safety concerns

Work Environment

You will be working outdoors on an active industrial construction site, with exposure to varying weather, uneven or unpaved haul roads, and heavy equipment traffic. The role involves physical activity including climbing into/out of the truck cab, handling chutes and washout hoses, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and extended periods of sitting while driving.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license
  • CDL not required
  • Ability operating a large vehicle in an active construction environment
  • Reliable and able to report for scheduled shifts
  • Able to safely and repeatedly enter/exit the truck cab throughout the shift
  • Willing to comply with all project safety and site-access requirements

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience operating large trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery
  • Concrete mixer truck experience

Why Apply

  • 7-month project with consistent, full-time hours
  • No CDL or public-road driving required
  • Work entirely within a controlled private jobsite
  • Be part of a large-scale construction project from a key logistics role
