Summary

The Senior Deputy Project Director/Senior PM (SPD) is accountable for the full project lifecycledelivery of a major EPC project—from supporting the Project Director during early-stage development (Pre-FEED/FEED) through to EPC execution, commissioning, and handover.

The role ensures that early project definition, technical maturity, and commercial structuring are optimised to enable bankable, executable EPC delivery, with full P&L accountability and leadership of large-scale project organisations.

Key Responsibilities

1) Pre-FEED & FEED Development Phase

  • Provide leadership during project origination and concept selection
  • Support client in:
    • Technology selection and configuration (e.g., process, licensors, CCS integration)
    • Site selection and early constructability assessment
    • Development of project execution strategy (EPC vs EPCM vs alliance)
  • Shape commercial model:
    • Contracting strategy
    • Risk allocation (client vs contractor vs partners)
  • Lead or oversee FEED delivery to “investment-grade” definition
  • Ensure development of:
    • Robust project scope, basis of design, and execution plan
    • Integrated schedule and cost estimate (typically ±10–15%)
  • Drive:
    • Constructability, modularisation, and buildability decisions
    • Supply chain and long-lead equipment strategy
  • Define:
    • Project governance, delivery model, and organisational structure
    • Interface management strategy across engineering, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Prepare project for Final Investment Decision (FID):
    • Validate economics, risks, and contingency
    • Ensure EPC readiness and execution credibility

12) EPC Execution Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership from NTP through commissioning and handover
  • Lead integrated EPC teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Ensure seamless transition from FEED LNTP, NTP into full EPC execution (no scope gaps or rework)

3) Core Delivery Accountabilities:

  • Full EPC/EPCm experience from set up to commissioning
