About the role
Description
Polytek® Development Corp. is a leading manufacturer of mold making and casting materials. Polytek® is currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and extremely organized individual to join our rapidly expanding company.
The Enterprise Transformation & Integration Lead will work closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth and transformation of Smooth-On following the acquisition of Polytek. This role will operate across the organization at an enterprise level, partnering with leaders across operations, manufacturing, finance, sales, supply chain, technology, and other functions to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead high-impact strategic initiatives.
The role will have significant responsibility for the integration of Polytek into Smooth-On, the evaluation and implementation of a future enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, business process optimization, manufacturing footprint strategy, and other enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
This is a highly cross-functional role designed to provide broad exposure to the business while directly contributing to critical strategic and operational decisions. The successful candidate will be expected to move comfortably between strategy and execution, bringing structure to complex problems, coordinating stakeholders, developing recommendations, and driving initiatives through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Transformation & Business Management
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop and execute strategic initiatives.
- Gain a broad understanding of the company's operations, financial performance, commercial strategy, manufacturing, supply chain, technology, and organizational structure.
- Analyze complex business problems and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Establish project objectives, workplans, governance structures, milestones, and measures of success for major initiatives.
- Manage multiple concurrent strategic and operational projects across the organization.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, profitability, scalability, and customer service.
Enterprise Integration & Change Management
- Establish and lead the Integration Management Office (IMO).
- Develop and maintain the enterprise integration roadmap.
- Facilitate executive steering committee governance.
- Manage synergy tracking and value realization reporting.
- Lead organizational change management and communication planning.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement across all functions.
- Develop risk mitigation and business continuity plans related to integration activities.
- Ensure integration initiatives maintain customer service, employee engagement, and operational performance.
- Develop and execute communication plans.
- Partner with leadership to drive organizational alignment and employee engagement.
- Identify organizational change risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Support leadership in town halls, change communications, training, and stakeholder management.
- Monitor employee adoption and change readiness throughout transformation initiatives.
Polytek Integration
- Lead and coordinate the integration of Polytek into Smooth-On following the acquisition.
- Develop and manage an enterprise integration roadmap spanning operations, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, technology, systems, processes, people, and other functional areas.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate, standardize, or redesign processes across the two organizations.
- Work with functional leaders to establish integration priorities, timelines, ownership, and accountability.
- Identify synergies and opportunities to leverage the combined capabilities, facilities, systems, people, and resources of Smooth-On and Polytek.
- Track integration initiatives, dependencies, risks, and financial or operational impact.
- Lead cross-functional teams through implementation and organizational change.
ERP Strategy & Implementation
- Lead the evaluation and selection of a new ERP platform and supporting technology ecosystem for the organization.
- Assess current-state systems, processes, data, reporting, and technology capabilities across Smooth-On and Polytek.
- Develop business and functional requirements and evaluate potential ERP solutions and implementation partners.
- Coordinate stakeholders across finance, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, inventory, operations, and technology throughout the selection process.
- Lead or oversee the implementation and transition to the selected ERP platform.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and improve business processes as part of the ERP transformation rather than simply replicating existing processes in a new system.
- Develop implementation governance, project plans, decision frameworks, and change-management approaches.
- Help ensure that the future technology environment provides reliable data, reporting, forecasting, and business intelligence capabilities.
Manufacturing & Operational Strategy
- Evaluate manufacturing operations across the company's five facilities to determine the optimal future manufacturing footprint.
- Analyze facility utilization, production capacity, product mix, costs, logistics, capabilities, equipment, labor, and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate production, relocate products or processes, improve capacity utilization, or potentially close facilities where economically and operationally appropriate.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for major manufacturing footprint decisions.
- Lead cross-functional projects associated with facility consolidation, production transfers, restructuring, or other operational changes.
- Partner with manufacturing and operations leadership to minimize disruption to customers and employees while improving operational performance.
Process Optimization
- Map and evaluate critical business processes across Smooth-On and Polytek.
- Identify process inefficiencies, redundancies, bottlenecks, manual work, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
- Develop future-state processes that support scalability, efficiency, visibility, and improved customer service.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure process performance and improvement.
- Lead implementation of process improvements across functional areas.
- Ensure process redesign and technology decisions are aligned rather than treating them as separate initiatives.
Strategic Projects
- Lead additional high-priority projects identified by senior leadership.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Develop business cases, financial analyses, project plans, presentations, and executive recommendations.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners as required.
- Take ownership of ambiguous problems and develop structure and solutions where no established process exists.
- Serve as a flexible enterprise resource capable of stepping into areas of the business requiring additional leadership, analysis, or execution.
