Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of critical equipment and address failures that impact hotel operations.
• Review and approve purchase orders that are essential to hotel operations.
• Consult with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, construction issues, MEP systems, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and Fire & Life Safety.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients on behalf of the owner or developer.
• Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Prepare and submit cost estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
• Develop and implement quality control programs.
• Provide advance equipment specifications and support preferred purchasing decisions.
• Maintain communication with corporate colleagues.
• Mentor and guide employees to ensure adherence to service standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, interview, and hire Engineering team members.
• Report to work on time, wearing the appropriate uniform and name badge at all times, while adhering to the company's personal appearance standards.
• Budget Planning and Control
• Comply with the Human Resources Policies and Procedures established in the Associate Handbook.
• Fully understand and comply with the company’s policies regarding fire safety, hygiene, health, and occupational safety.
