About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated DVA Modeling Engineer to support robust product and process development through advanced dimensional engineering practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA), performing tolerance stack-up studies, and applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and assembly feasibility across automotive vehicle programs.
This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in variation analysis tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive dimensional quality improvements throughout the product development lifecycle.
Dimensional Engineering & Analysis
- Support and perform Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) for vehicle systems and subsystems.
- Conduct and review 1D, 2D, and 3D tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Apply and ensure compliance with GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5 or ISO) across product designs.
- Develop, maintain, and validate dimensional simulation models using industry-standard variation analysis tools.
- Identify dimensional risks and provide recommendations to improve product quality and manufacturability.
- Support root cause analysis and resolution of dimensional and assembly-related concerns.
Program & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams to address dimensional issues.
- Support design reviews, engineering releases, and manufacturing feasibility assessments.
- Participate in vehicle development and launch activities to ensure dimensional quality targets are achieved.
- Present analysis findings and recommendations to engineering and program stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to dimensional engineering methodologies and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in dimensional engineering, dimensional variation analysis, tolerance analysis, or variation simulation within the automotive industry.
- Strong expertise in:
- GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO Standards)
- Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis
- Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA)
- Experience using variation analysis tools such as 3DCS, VisVSA, CETOL, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting automotive product development programs.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
