  • Performs engineering calculations and reviews related to load demand, conductor and overcurrent protection sizing, voltage drop, grounding and bonding, short-circuit protection, equipment ratings, and power quality.
  • Selects and integrates generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, motors, control panels, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety circuits, and industrial network components.
  • Supports control-system architecture, PLC and HMI functional requirements, alarm strategies, interlocks, permissives, emergency-stop functions, and cause-and-effect documentation in coordination with approved programmers and controls resources.
  • Leads or supports factory acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, field validation, and performance testing of new or modified EPIC rig electrical systems.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical faults, nuisance trips, control failures, power-quality issues, equipment damage, and recurring reliability concerns.
  • Develops corrective actions, reliability upgrades, preventive maintenance strategies, inspection criteria, critical-spares recommendations, and obsolescence plans.
  • Reviews vendor drawings, technical submittals, quotations, component substitutions, and equipment certifications; coordinates technical requirements with suppliers and fabricators.
  • Ensures designs and work practices align with applicable company standards, manufacturer requirements, and electrical codes and standards adopted for the equipment and operating location.
  • Conducts or supports electrical hazard assessments, lockout/tagout planning, energized-work controls, grounding verification, and safe commissioning activities in partnership with HSE and Operations.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to electrical technicians, rig personnel, maintenance teams, and field leadership on system operation, diagnostics, maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Supports project schedules, capital estimates, risk reviews, design reviews, management of change, and cross-functional implementation of rig electrical upgrades.
  • Travels to field locations as needed to inspect equipment, resolve technical issues, and support commissioning or operational readiness.
  • Completes required engineering records, service reports, redlines, as-built documentation, and other company documentation accurately and timely.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
