About the role

ESI Trainer and Assessor – Industry Skills

At Aurecon, we don't just deliver training - we help organisations build capability, solve workforce challenges and create better outcomes for industries and communities across Australasia.

Our Industry Skills Practice is growing and we're looking for someone exceptional to join us.

What you’ll do

As a Trainer and Assessor in our Industry Skills team based in either Sydney or Newcastle, you’ll contribute to the quality delivery of our training and assessment projects and programs that make a real difference.

- Delivering a range of ESI technical training for our ASQA-accredited

Registered Training Organisation (enterprise, industry, mandatory, refresher)

- Carrying out training and assessment of students (including blended/face-

face and e-learning delivery) according to the client’s specifications and on

their site

- Delivering national units of competency particularly the refresher units from

the UET training package

- Ensuring training and assessment are conducted in line with relevant

RTO/client/industry and regulatory requirements

What you’ll bring

You're people-oriented, reliable and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments. You'll ideally have:

- Knowledge and skills as an experienced ESI worker (cable jointer, lineworker,

substation technician, live line worker or switching operator qualification

preferred)

- Evidence of an active enrolment in (or already holding) a vocational training

qualification (TAE40122 Cert IV TAE or equivalent), and all other relevant

licences and documentation (e.g. police check, working with children, high

risk and driver’s licences)

How we support your growth

We believe your career should be a rewarding adventure. You will work with us to help address some of Australia’s skill shortage challenges in the Electricity Supply Industry, in an environment that supports your ambitions, where we hold ourselves, and each other, to the highest standards. Recognised by the AFR as a Best Place to Work in 2026, we embrace diverse perspectives, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact.

Who we are

We are an engineering consultancy with more than 6,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. We believe the world needs people who can engineer possibilities; people who can create infrastructure that makes life better for people and the planet. That is why we are here – to bring ideas to life, the Aurecon way.

Ready for your next adventure?

If you're ready to perform, grow, and build a career where your impact is visible every day, we'd love to hear from you. We value diverse experiences and welcome applications for part-time or flexible working arrangements. We will work with you to find a work pattern and engagement mechanism that works for us all.
