About the role

We are looking for an experienced educator to join a middle management team at a bilingual school in Chengdu. This position is available from the 2026/27 academic year with an immediate start or February 2027.

About the role

The role focuses primarily on curriculum development, teacher management and academic administration, alongside English teaching.

You will help oversee a team of 11 expat teachers and work closely with Chinese colleagues to improve teaching quality and support daily school operations. The international high school currently offers AP courses, while the primary division draws on PYP principles. This position offers a pathway into broader school management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development, review and implementation, supporting AP provision and PYP-informed teaching

  • Teach approximately 12–16 English lessons per week and model effective classroom practice
  • Coordinate collaborative planning, assessment and resource development between Chinese and foreign teachers
  • Assist with academic administration, timetabling, recruitment, meetings and cross-department coordination
  • Monitor teaching quality and student progress, turning feedback into practical improvements
  • Support parent communication, admissions events and international school activities
  • Gradually take on wider divisional management responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field; a master’s degree is preferred
  • Recognised teaching qualification from your home country
  • At least six years of school teaching experience, including three years in teacher management, subject leadership, curriculum coordination or a similar academic leadership role
  • Strong curriculum development, team leadership and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Familiarity with PYP principles; AP or other international curriculum experience is an advantage
  • Interest in long-term development and progression into school management
  • Eligible for a work permit and residence permit in China
