About the role

Hospitality Host – The Rink at Rockefeller Center

2026–27 Season | October–Early Spring

Overview

SPS is seeking energetic, outgoing, and service-driven individuals to join The Rink at Rockefeller Center. As a Hospitality Host, you will represent one of New York City’s most iconic destinations and help create welcoming, seamless, and memorable guest experiences.

This cross-functional role includes hospitality, ticketing, retail, access control, skate rentals, wayfinding, basic camera operations, and general rink operations. Team members will welcome visitors from around the world, provide information about The Rink and Rockefeller Center, anticipate guest needs, and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The Rink is a seasonal cold-weather operation that runs rain or shine throughout the demanding winter. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in cold temperatures and changing weather conditions, including rain, snow, and wind. A portion of each shift may take place outside; an insulated winter jacket and vest will be provided.

Schedules may include early mornings, daytime hours, evenings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume periods. Weekend and holiday availability is required, with dependable morning and late-night availability strongly preferred.

Summary of Position

Hospitality Hosts deliver exceptional service throughout each guest’s visit by welcoming guests, processing ticket and retail transactions, supporting access control, assisting with skate rentals, providing wayfinding, directing guest flow, monitoring locker rooms, answering questions, and maintaining a polished environment.

Above all, Hospitality Hosts set the tone of the visit: warm, genuine, and attentive service is the expectation in every interaction, whether a guest is buying a ticket, fitting a rental skate, or asking for directions. Team members may be assigned to different positions throughout The Rink based on operational needs, and all staff may be asked to fill in at any other position as needed. Team members should be willing and able to assist in those areas when requested; training is provided.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and create a positive first impression of The Rink and Rockefeller Center.
  • Provide knowledgeable wayfinding assistance and answer questions about The Rink, Rockefeller Center, nearby attractions, amenities, and seasonal offerings.
  • Process ticket and retail transactions at the Skate House Box Office and Retail Shop using a touchscreen or mobile POS system.
  • Follow all transaction procedures accurately.
  • Check and scan guest tickets, issue appropriate credentials, and communicate relevant session information.
  • Handle rental skate duties, including exchanges, guest education, cleaning, sanitizing, and proper storage.
  • Direct guest traffic, assist with crowd management, and maintain efficient pedestrian flow.
  • Operate point-and-shoot cameras and support basic photo capture operations.
  • Instruct guests on proper locker usage and etiquette.
  • Address guest questions and concerns in a calm, professional manner.
  • Occasionally support general maintenance and snow removal during snow events.
  • Uphold The Rink’s guest-service, operating, and safety standards.
  • Encourage guests to explore other attractions and experiences within Rockefeller Center.
  • Perform other duties that support rink operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, events, or a skating rink is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to provide warm, professional service and address guest needs in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to direct and assist large groups of people with confidence.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
