About the role

Internship Duration: 10–12 Weeks | Late May – Early August

Interested in exploring a career in logistics, supply chain management, or distribution operations? Peco Foods' Summer Internship Program offers college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment while developing valuable operational and problem-solving skills.

As a Logistics Intern, you'll learn how a large-scale poultry processing facility and distribution center work together to move products efficiently from production to customers. You'll work alongside experienced logistics professionals, gain exposure to daily distribution activities, and contribute to projects that make a meaningful impact on operations.

What You'll Experience

Throughout the internship, you'll gain immersive, hands-on experience while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in logistics and supply chain management. You’ll work closely with your assigned supervisor and follow all company safety, food safety, and operational procedures.

  • Explore logistics and distribution operations by gaining exposure to warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and transportation coordination.
  • Develop analytical and problem-solving skills through inventory tracking, operational reporting, data analysis, and identifying opportunities to improve logistics performance.
  • Build leadership and operational skills by working alongside logistics supervisors and distribution leaders to understand how they manage teams, coordinate activities, and address daily challenges.
  • Make a meaningful impact by participating in a logistics or distribution improvement project, developing practical solutions, and presenting recommendations to leadership.
  • Understand what drives success by learning how inventory accuracy, transportation efficiency, product quality, customer service, and teamwork contribute to overall business performance.
  • Grow professionally through ongoing coaching, feedback, and opportunities to build relationships with experienced logistics and operations professionals.
  • Experience real-world distribution operations through assignments that may involve varying shifts, refrigerated environments, extended periods of standing or walking, and other physically active tasks.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for motivated, curious, and detail-oriented college students who are eager to learn, take initiative, and gain practical experience in logistics and supply chain operations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in college during the semester preceding the internship.
  • Upcoming sophomore, junior, senior, or grad year student in good academic standing.
