About the role
Principal Objective of Position:
The non-ferrous warehouse worker handles all non-ferrous material with little supervision. They are responsible for inputting data into company’s material receipt system and required to complete physical inventory.
Essential Functions:
- Completes daily safety inspections
- Receives all non-ferrous material as it comes in
- Processes and separates all material as it is received
- Gleans material from the yard
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Identifies and treats non ferrous material accordingly
- Assists customers when needed
- Performs general up keep and provides basic security for the facility
- Completes monthly inventory routine
- Communicates with the office and ferrous yard on customer movement
- Completes physical inventory
- Inputs data into company’s material receipt system
Other Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Can work independently and in a team environment
- Self-motivated and takes responsibility for own work; can manage interruptions
- Must perform all duties while meeting safety protocols
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be dependable
- Must have the ability to answer any questions and solve any complaints from the customer in a professional manner
- Must have good organization skills
- The ability to identify items that are ferrous and non-ferrous
- Displays an understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Metals Recycling, preferred
Work Environment:
This position is located in an outdoor environment. The ability to work in all weather elements is required. If operating equipment, the position is in a controlled environment but if equipment needs repairs, exposure to weather elements present. Overtime and weekend work will be required at times.
