Middle Java Automation QA Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Middle Java Automation QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests for applications built on a microservices architecture. 

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java automation testing, API testing, BDD frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines, along with a good understanding of Agile development practices. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests using Java 

• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for microservices-based applications 

• Create and maintain automated tests using BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, or JGiven 

• Perform REST API testing using Postman (or similar) and Java-based automation tools 

• Integrate and execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines 

• Work with Jenkins, GitHub, and OpenShift as part of the development and testing lifecycle 

• Perform database testing and data validation using SQL queries 

• Identify, report, and investigate defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues 

• Analyze automated test results and troubleshoot test failures 

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives 

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and Product Owners to ensure software quality 

• Contribute to improving existing automation frameworks and testing processes 

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills 

Java Automation:

• Hands-on experience with Java for automated testing 

• Experience with at least one BDD framework: Cucumber, JBehave, or JGiven 

• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts 

• Good understanding of automation testing principles and best practices 

Microservices & API Testing:

• Experience testing microservices-based applications 

• Good knowledge of REST APIs and API testing concepts 

• Hands-on experience with Postman or similar tools 

• Experience with functional, integration, and regression testing 

CI/CD & Development Tools:

• Experience working with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines 

• Familiarity with GitHub and version control practices 

• Working knowledge of OpenShift environments 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with Spring Boot-based applications. 

• Familiarity with non-relational databases 

• Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architecture 

• Experience with Performance testing (with JMeter) 

• Experience with Pact/Contract testing  

• Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment
