About the role

The Operations Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, helping translate operational needs into practical technology solutions. This role supports manufacturing, planning, procurement, logistics, quality, and related operational processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on exposure to manufacturing or supply chain environments and is ready to grow into broader business analysis responsibilities.

Note: This role is on-site in Cincinnati, OH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, procurement, logistics, quality, and IT teams to understand business needs, process challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Gather, document, and clarify business requirements, functional requirements, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria for system enhancements and projects.
  • Support ERP systems, manufacturing, warehouse, planning, reporting, and related business applications through issue analysis, configuration support, testing, and enhancement requests.
  • Assist with process mapping and gap analysis for core operational workflows such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, production scheduling, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Participate in solution design discussions with business users, developers, vendors, and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions align with operational priorities.
  • Prepare and execute test plans, support user acceptance testing, document defects, and validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
  • Create user documentation, training materials, standard operating procedures, and support guides for new or changed systems and processes.
  • Analyze operational data and reporting needs to help improve visibility into production performance, service levels, supplier performance, and process efficiency.
  • Support change management activities by communicating system changes, coordinating training readiness, and helping business users adopt new tools and processes.
  • Manage assigned tasks, small enhancement requests, and project workstreams with guidance from senior team members or project leads.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Two to five years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, operations analyst, supply chain analyst, or similar role.
  • Some direct experience supporting manufacturing, operations, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, procurement, or production planning processes.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and related business platforms such as MRP, MES, WMS, TMS, quality systems, reporting tools, or other operational applications.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document processes, write clear business documentation, and communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Comfortable working with data in tools such as Excel, reporting platforms, dashboards, or basic query tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP LX is preferred; experience with other ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Infor, or similar platforms is also valuable.
  • Exposure to manufacturing execution systems, warehouse management systems, production planning tools, EDI, barcode/scanning solutions, or shop-floor integrations.
  • Experience creating process maps, test scripts, training guides, dashboards, or operational reports.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, CSPO, APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are helpful but not required.

Key Competencies

  • Business process orientation with curiosity about how work gets done on the plant floor and across the supply chain.
  • Clear communication and active listening skills with the ability to translate between business and technical teams.
  • Practical problem-solving mindset focused on improving efficiency, accuracy, service, quality, and user experience.
