About the role
Overview:
We are seeing an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all phases of case workups including pre-litigation and litigation. Successful candidates will be proficient in legal software, have excellent communication skills and have a knack for time management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all aspects of litigation from filing of complaint through trial and post-trial
- Draft, prepare, and file legal documents, including:
- Complaints, answers, and motions
- Discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.)
- Subpoenas and deposition notices
- Manage and track litigation deadlines in accordance with Connecticut court rules
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and court appearances
- Review, analyze, and summarize medical records, expert reports, and discovery materials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses
- Assist with trial preparation, including:
- Exhibit preparation and organization
- Trial binders and materials
- Witness coordination
- Maintain accurate and organized case files within Litify
- E-file documents in Connecticut state and federal courts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in Personal Injury
- Proficiency in legal software and legal databases (Litify, eCourts, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
- Relevant understanding of legal research methodologies.
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to paralegal studies preferred.
Compensation: The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to; prior relevant experience, business needs and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
