About the role

About Us:

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, helps customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education.

For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead large-scale fire suppression projects from planning through to completion. Working across sectors including logistics, warehousing, healthcare, industrial and commercial environments, you'll be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time and within budget while building strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors and internal teams.

The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with regular travel to project sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fire suppression projects from design and planning through installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, resources, quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Lead Work In Progress (WIP) reviews, manage change orders and support margin improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, internal teams, contractors and project partners.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans to ensure successful delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience in Project Management within the Fire Suppression industry.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK.

Desirable

  • Project Management qualification (PMP, Prince2 or equivalent).
  • Previous fire suppression or sprinkler system design experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar project management platforms.
  • Experience managing large-scale construction, M&E or fire suppression projects.

Due to the nature of this position, we are only able to consider applicants who currently have the unrestricted legal right to live and work in the UK. We are unable to provide sponsorship or assist with visa applications for this role
