About the role
The Recreation Hut Attendant (On-Call) is responsible for the daily operation of recreational facilities and activities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests and visitors. This role provides customer service, manages equipment rentals and reservations, maintains facility cleanliness and organization, monitors inventory, and supports water-based and recreational activities. The incumbent must be a strong swimmer and able to perform physically demanding tasks while promoting safety and exceptional guest service.
The Recreation Hut Attendant (On-Call) is responsible for the daily operation of recreational facilities and activities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests and visitors. This role provides customer service, manages equipment rentals and reservations, maintains facility cleanliness and organization, monitors inventory, and supports water-based and recreational activities. The incumbent must be a strong swimmer and able to perform physically demanding tasks while promoting safety and exceptional guest service.
- Must be a confident swimmer and comfortable working in and around water-based recreational activities.
- Previous experience in customer service, recreation, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to safely assist guests with recreational equipment, including kayaks and other watercraft.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, guest-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly while ensuring guest safety.
- Basic knowledge of water safety, first aid, and CPR is an asset (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Physically capable of lifting, moving, and maintaining recreational equipment, as well as performing cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage reservations, inventory, and equipment tracking.
- Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable recreational environment.
