About the role

Who We Are

XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air handling systems. Focused on energy research and development, we help reduce the carbon footprint across many industries.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new technology headquarters in Mesa, Arizona. This expansion reflects our commitment to growth, innovation, and the development of sustainable climate solutions.

The Opportunity

Senior Electro-Mechanical Designer

The demand for AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure is accelerating. XNRGY Climate Systems develops advanced cooling technologies that help make that growth possible.

We are looking for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Designer who wants to do more than produce drawings. In this hands-on NPD role, you will design electrical cabinets and enclosure assemblies, develop the mechanical architecture required to integrate electrical equipment, and work directly with engineering and manufacturing teams to turn concepts into production-ready products.

What You'll Work On

· Air-cooled chillers and coolant distribution units (CDUs).

· Electrical cabinets, control-panel enclosures, and component-mounting assemblies.

· Advanced thermal management solutions for hyperscale and mission-critical data centers.

What You'll Do

· Create production-ready 3D models, detailed drawings, electrical layouts, and manufacturing documentation.

· Design electrical cabinets and control-panel enclosures, including sheet-metal structures, doors, gland plates, mounting panels, brackets, supports, and related assemblies.

· Develop component layouts and mechanical packaging solutions for control panels, VFDs, ATS systems, active harmonic filters, power-distribution equipment, sensors, and related electrical components.

· Design cable-routing and cable-management provisions while considering bend radius, separation, entry points, assembly sequence, and service access.

· Develop enclosure solutions that consider structural integrity, manufacturability, accessibility, ventilation and heat dissipation, environmental protection, safety, and cost.

· Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from early concepts and prototypes through validation and production launch.

· Collaborate with Product Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to solve real design challenges.

· Support prototype and production builds, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and product improvements.

· Maintain BOMs, drawings, and configuration-controlled documentation, including ECR and ECO implementation.

· Participate in design reviews and help improve product reliability, build efficiency, serviceability, and overall execution.

What You Bring

· Five or more years of electro-mechanical design experience in an OEM or manufacturing environment.

· Associate degree, technical diploma, or bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or design discipline.

· Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Creo.

· Experience designing production-ready electrical enclosures, control-panel cabinets, sheet-metal assemblies, and component-mounting systems.

· Experience creating detailed drawings, fabrication documentation, assembly information, and engineering BOMs.

· Practical knowledge of industrial control panels, wiring harnesses, three-phase power distribution, and electrical equipment integration.

· Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnection drawings.

· Strong understanding of sheet-metal fabrication, enclosure construction, manufacturing processes, DFM, and DFA.

· An ownership mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-moving product-development environment.

Bonus Points:

· Experience with chillers, CDUs, AHUs, CRAHs, fan wall units, or related thermal management equipment.

· Experience designing industrial or listed control-panel enclosures and electrical packaging solutions.

· Experience integrating VFDs, ATS systems, active harmonic filters, or industrial power-distribution equipment.

· Experience with Teamcenter or another PDM/PLM system.

· Familiarity with UL, ETL, CSA, NEC, or related product-safety requirements.

At XNRGY Climate Systems, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We believe that a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are essential to driving innovation and achieving success. We welcome individuals who share our passion for sustainability and who are eager to contribute to a more positive environmental future.
