Shear Press Machine Operators

Location: Apple Creek, OH
Pay: $25–$35/hour,plus per diem/travel for qualified travelers
Duration: 6 weeks
Schedule: 40+ hours per week

Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Shear Press Machine Operators for a 6-week manufacturing project in Apple Creek, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience operating shear press machinery, reading blueprints, and producing accurate, high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate shear press machinery according to production requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

• Measure and inspect materials and finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.

• Verify material dimensions and ensure proper cuts and tolerances.

• Monitor machine operation and production output.

• Perform in-process and finished-product quality inspections.

• Make basic machine adjustments as needed.

• Identify production, equipment, or quality issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a shear press, metal shear, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Experience using precision measuring instruments.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

• Dependable with a strong work ethic.

• Ability to maintain production standards in a fast-paced environment.

Available Shifts

Travel & Per Diem

• $179 per day per diem ($1,247 per week) paid for all days while traveling.
• When traveling, your time is compensated at your regular hourly rate
• If traveling by personal vehicle, mileage will be reimbursed at $0.76 per mile
• If traveling by air, the flight will be provided, with reimbursement for rental car and fuel
