Job Title: Skilled Laborer (Cutting)

Location: Dahlonega, GA

Shifts: 1st 

Starting Rate: $16/hr

MAJOR PURPOSE OF THIS JOB:

Cut decking and sheet metal to order specifications in the Decking Department, using saws, drills, and metal-cutting tools. The job requires daily manual labor, and each order must be cut safely, accurately, and on time. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lift and move aluminum, composite, and hardwood decking boards (16–36 ft) onto a roller assembly.

• Measure and cut material to the lengths on each cut order.

• Safely operate a PMI saw, miter saws, drills, and sheet metal nibblers.

• Pull, stage, and double-check finished pieces before they move to the next step.

• Make sure all equipment is set up and used safely and all safety devices are in place.

• Keep the work area safe and clean by following procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Use equipment and materials efficiently to keep waste down.

• Communicate professionally with supervisors and co-workers.

• Support the team by taking on related work as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Production environment with risk of injury. Safety equipment must be worn.

• Exposure to noise, sawdust, and metal shavings.

• Standing, bending, and lifting for most of the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry long material with a teammate.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with a PMI saw, miter saws, drills, or sheet metal nibblers is preferred.

• Entry-level applicants who can handle daily manual labor are welcome.

• Must be able to read a tape measure and follow written cut orders.

• Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or lumber yard setting is preferred.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
