About the role
Oversees the daily operations and workflow of Operating Room Assistants within Surgical Services. Ensures appropriate staffing coverage, patient transportation, room readiness, equipment availability, and operational support to facilitate efficient surgical throughput. Serves as a frontline leader by coaching team members, supporting onboarding and competency development, addressing operational concerns, and promoting accountability, safety, and service excellence. Partners with clinical and operational leaders to maintain an environment that supports high-quality patient care and operational performance. Performs all duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
What you will do
- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities and workflows of ORAs to ensure efficient support of surgical operations.
- Oversees operating room readiness, including equipment availability, supply management, etc.
- Develops and adjusts daily staffing assignments based on surgical volume, operational priorities, and staffing needs.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives and supports implementation of operational changes that enhance efficiency, qualify and team member experience.
- Tracks, monitors, and communicates operational metrics to support improvement efforts.

- High School Diploma or GED
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in surgical services, operating room support, patient transport, healthcare operations, or a related healthcare environment required.
