Teacher Assistant

Lifesteps is hiring Child Care Staff (Teacher Aide Assistants) for the two Butler, PA child care locations.

The Agency provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

Lifesteps is immediately hiring Full-time or Part-time Child Care Staff (also known as AGS / Teacher Aides / Classroom Assistants) to work Monday through Friday, daylight hours, in the daycare and preschool center. Job duties include the care and supervision of children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years, assisting with lesson planning, creating activities, supervising playtime, provide a nurturing environment, update parents about the child's routine, and complete documentation as needed.

Full or Part-time positions work Monday through Friday. No Evenings, No Weekends. No Holidays.

The full-time schedule is 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Part-time hours can be flexible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children, etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Psychology, Criminology, Women's Studies, Art or Music Therapy, Elementary Education, or similar Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or similar Human Services field
