The Yale-China Chinese Language Academy at the Faculty of Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, is now seeking a full-time Assistant Lecturer / Lecturer in Putonghua. The appointee will be responsible for teaching Chinese language courses at various levels, coordinating student activities, and assisting with other administrative tasks related to teaching.

Applicants must:

i. Hold a master’s degree or above in linguistics, applied linguistics, teaching Chinese as a second language, Chinese language and literature, or a related discipline;

ii. Possess a solid foundation in Chinese language, standard Putonghua pronunciation, and a high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English;

iii. Demonstrate a systematic understanding of the Chinese language and the theories of teaching Chinese as a second language, as well as strong communication and intercultural skills;

iv. Be proficient in using online teaching software and e-learning platforms.

Applicants with experience in teaching Chinese as a second language to non-native speakers at the university level or teaching Putonghua to speakers of Cantonese at the university level, as well as those with experience in organising and participating in academic projects, will be given priority. Applicants for the rank of Lecturer must possess at least four years of relevant teaching experience or a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.

Teaching Demonstration:

Applicants are required to submit a teaching video of approximately 10-15 minutes, demonstrating the complete teaching process of at least one language point at elementary or intermediate level. It can be either a recording of a real lesson or a teaching demonstration. Due to file size limitation of the online application system, applicants are advised to save the link to the teaching demonstration video in a Word document and upload the Word document to the online application system.

Reference Letters:

Applicants should also submit two reference letters.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 1 year commencing July 2027, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.

香港中文大學文學院雅禮中國語文研習所現招聘全職普通話助理講師/講師一名，獲聘者須教授不同級別的語言課程、組織學生活動，以及處理各項與教學相關之行政事務。

應徵者需具備以下條件：

i. 持有語言學、應用語言學、漢語國際教育、中國語言文學或其他相關學科之碩士或以上學位；

ii. 具備扎實的中文功底，標準的普通話發音，以及高水平的英文口語及書寫能力；

iii. 熟悉漢語本體知識與國際漢語教學理論，具備良好的溝通能力與跨文化交際能力；

iv. 能熟練運用網絡教學軟件及電子教學平台；

具有高等院校漢語作為第二語言教學經驗、熟悉粵語地區普通話教學工作或曾參與及組織學術項目的申請人將獲優先考慮。申請講師職位者，須具四年以上相關教學經驗或持有相關專業博士學位。
