About the role

Our Signal Story

For 30 years, SBi has served the communications needs of underserved rural communities and tribal lands in the southwest. Our cellular division, Cellular One, is a leading regional provider of mobile technology and wireless communications service operating a network of more than 240 cell sites covering 60,000 square miles.

The Mission

As a Field ISP Technician (Level II), you keep our network elements running at full throttle, so customers stay connected when it matters most. You’ll support interdepartmental objectives through preventative and corrective maintenance, installation, optimization, and integration of network hardware, plus customer installs and troubleshooting.

Key requirements/skills:
- Comfortable on ladders/roofs; strict adherence to Cellular One safety protocols (Safety-Sensitive role; constant alertness required)
- Identify varied equipment and select the correct apparatus for each job
- Complete standard installs independently; escalate unusual installs as needed
- Use computer tools to configure, install, and troubleshoot equipment
- Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Trouble Ticket systems (open/update/close)
- Solid IP fundamentals (private vs. public; selecting the right IP)
- Customer-facing communication and proper handling of customer information
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; care for company vehicle/tools

In the Field

Your day starts in Show Low with a quick scan of Outlook and the ticket queue to spot priority outages and customer appointments. From there, it’s hands-on momentum: driving out to sites and homes, verifying signal paths, checking configs, and moving between rooftops, ladders, and equipment enclosures with safety always leading the way. You’ll document progress in the Trouble Ticket system, coordinate with other teams when a fix needs extra muscle, and keep customers in the loop with clear, no-jargon updates. Some days wrap at 5; other days you’re the on-call ace—nights, weekends, and holidays—restoring service fast and leaving every job site clean, secure, and ready for the next run.
