Lathe Operators

Location: Apple Creek, OH
Pay: $25–$35/hour
Duration: 6 weeks
Schedule: 40+ hours per week

Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Lathe Operators for a 6-week manufacturing project in Apple Creek, OH. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating lathes, reading blueprints, and using precision measuring tools to produce accurate, quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual or CNC lathes according to production requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

• Select and install appropriate tooling for production.

• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances.

• Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.

• Perform in-process and finished-product quality checks.

• Identify and troubleshoot basic machining or quality issues.

• Maintain proper machine operation and production output.

• Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Previous lathe operating or machining experience required.

• Experience with manual and/or CNC lathes preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, and machining processes.

• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Dependable with a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Available Shifts

Travel & Per Diem

• $179 per day per diem ($1,247 per week) paid for all days while traveling.
• When traveling, your time is compensated at your regular hourly rate
• If traveling by personal vehicle, mileage will be reimbursed at $0.76 per mile
• If traveling by air, the flight will be provided, with reimbursement for rental car and fuel
