The University of Miami/UHealth  has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem, Pharmacy Technician.

SUMMARY

The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist.   Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records. Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs. Refers providers’ calls and medical questions to Pharmacist. Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties. Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

State of FL registration

Experience:

No experience required.  {New Grad/Entry}

• Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
