QA/QC Project Coordinator

Thyssen Mining is seeking a QA/QC Project Coordinator to support and coordinate Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role works closely with project teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Controls

• Coordinate QA/QC activities in line with project quality plans, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
• Support the development and maintenance of quality plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and third-party reviews.
• Monitor compliance with approved drawings, standards, and procedures.
• Track, document, and close out deficiencies, corrective actions, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Project Coordination

• Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers, and contractors to address quality requirements.
• Review project documentation to identify QA/QC requirements.
• Coordinate project turnover documentation and completion records.
• Monitor outstanding quality issues and provide status updates to project leadership.
• Participate in project meetings and support quality-related reporting.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate QA/QC records, inspection reports, test results, certifications, and quality logs.
• Prepare regular quality status reports.
• Ensure current revisions of drawings, specifications, and procedures are available to project teams.
• Compile final turnover and closeout quality documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality processes and documentation.
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quality Management, Mechanical/Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in QA/QC, project coordination, engineering, or construction environments.
• Mining, underground construction, heavy industrial, civil, or infrastructure project experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of QA/QC processes, ITPs, NCRs, inspections, and document control.
• Strong Microsoft Office and document management system skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
